Description

THE universal armored vehicle of the imperial forces, the Schneekatze (Snow-Cat, named after a vicious predator living in the highter mountain region of the imperium) was used by each branch of the imperial forces and even paramilitary organisations.

Fully-tracked to keep up with armored forces and to negatiate the rugged terrain of imperial hinterlands, the Schneekatze was lightly armored to defeat small arms and lighter machineguns. Able to carry infantry, cargo or even wounded soldiers, the armored personnel carrier enabled imperial infantry to operate more secure than before and even brought heavier firepower with them in form of 20mm autocannon, recoilless rifles, mortars or flamers, mounted on the vehicle.

Constantly upgraded during the war, the latest versions carried 30mm dual-purpose cannon, machineguns and 80mm Panzerwerfer systems.
Many variants did not receive an official name, but were given one by the soldiers who crewed them. Several of these stuck and were used throughout the war, yet high command often forbade their use.
