I think Pinsir is underrated. The fact that it only got a Bug-type move recently (X-Scissor) may be responsible. Oh well. I still love it.

I agree. I never really played the earlier pokemon versions so I wouldn't really know, but I did start training a pinsir in my current game. It's attack strength is higher than it's hit points! It's pretty epic. (plus doesn't have that annoying fighting type attached to it like heracross)

Yeah, the Fighting-type add may work if you like using double-types for convinence, but some of those may leave your Pokemon at a disadvantage.
I've been playing since Generation I, and I own every portable game except Red, Crystal, LeafGreen, Platinum, and the two G/S sequals (my brother has a copy of Diamond).

Yeah, not a huge fan of double types.
I've only got ruby, leaf green, and pearl. Hopefully I can make enough money this summer to afford SS/HG. I'm too broke right now

I only use one or two double types, but only if their types are similar (Ice/Water or Steel/Rock).
I hope you're able to get 'em. I would, but I'm also broke. Plus, I'm nostalgic.

It seems like all the new pokemon are double types, it's hard to find ones that are more helpful than detrimental. My favorite combos are Dragon/water and water ground (a lot of the water combos aren't bad actually) I think Fire/Fighting is the most annoying combo.

Fire/Fighting is an overused combo, even though only 4 Pokemon are that type combo. However, they were probably chosen given a dearth of Fire-types in the last two series (as far as finding them in the regional Pokedexes) go.

Yeah, there's no good new fire types beyond Johto. And the only thing I really wanted a good fire type for in Pearl was to beat up Bronzong, but Infernape kept getting beaten because of the weakness. The only other fire type available in the game is ponyta, which isn't really that great. That's the main reason I don't like fire/fighting.

Yeah, in D/P, Ponyta was your only option, and that sucked.
In Platinum, they added Flareon, Magmar's family, and Houndour's family to that, but that didn't do much else.

Houndour and vulpix showed up with the pokeradar but only after you beat the elite 4, and by that time I had traded/palparked some better fire types.

I only used the PokeRadar to get Ralts and Bagon. Since I had Pearl, I wasn't able to get my Aron family without need of PalPark.

I used it to get Smeargle, pretty much everything else I got through Palpark.
