That would be a kinda nice interpretation of the reason why Lopoddity made Zircon, makes a whole lotta sense but we can't have a clear answer just yet. Often I'd make stuff like that based on negative expierenves but maybe it could be an obstacle and negative experience Onyx herself only has. But Kilala for damn sure is her knight and shining armor, they protect each other and they love each other so much it honestly fuels my life. (Also love, you kept referring to Lop as a male when if I remember, she defined herself as female. But maybe there's something they said and I'm not sure.)

Seriously, amazing job at showing how a potentially beautiful and brilliant relationship, be it family or friend or lover, can have such unpleasant connections haunting or even overshadowing them. Β Sometimes it really is hard to tell which hand it is you're reaching out to grasp.

AHHHHHHH I adore this. I love their mirrored poses-Lari looks so open and friendly and inviting, while Zircon is distant and detached. I love those gorgeous poiple shadows, and how SOLID everything looks oh my goooood stop saying you're not an illustrator your understanding of form is so goooood
Did I mention the faces? Cuz I love both. It's new to see you incorporating more structure in your human faces, but it looks great, and doesn't make it look any less cartoony and charming. And Zircon's faaaaaace *drools* Those CHEEKBONES, and dem LIPS. I adore the way you set her gem in her eye, and then that hair is a shiny gorgeously-rendered waterfall and I wanna EAT IT and DAMN IT KIANA STOP DRAWING MY CHARACTERS BETTER THAN ME
I like the change-up from using absolute black on Lari's outfit and eyes to a softer blue. And how touch-able her hair looks, and how the lighting and positioning of Zircon's hand makes it truly resemble a three-dimensional object receding back into space....I could make like...a powerpoint presentation on everything I love about this, but I'll spare you. XD Just know that I loooove it (did I mention that?)
