Description
Parents of the characters who aren't actually "next gen" charactersTop to bottom, left to right
Freyja and Arrow Head
Fletcher, Synnøve and Truls' parents. They both own a shop where they make weapons for the royal guard. They came from Norhay and moved to Canterlot with their kids. Arrow Head is a hard worker he comes off as a very intimidating stallion but he is actually quite friendly. Freyja is a beautiful mare but she is also quite strict and is certainly the authority figure in the house. She knows how to keep her family in check. She only knows Norhegian (Norwegian).
Herb and Isis Quartz
Amber's parents. Isis is the famous joustess from the Crystal Empire. Herb is a traveler who studies plants and uses them to make medicines. They met at one of Isis' jousting tournaments. She had got hurt and Herb was able to help her out using his knowledge of medicine. They then got to know each other afterwards and were very taken with one another. Herb is a very serious guy and is a bit of a know-it-all. He gets frustrated easily but Isis reigns him in. Isis seems very serious when jousting but after being approached, ponies quickly realize that's not the case. She is actually very hyperactive, curious, fascinated with everything and a bit childish even. Isis passed due to an illness unique to the Crystal Empire (it was presumed to have something to do with Sombra's curse). Herb did everything he could to help her, but nothing worked. Isis passed away when Amber was three and due to his job, Herb couldn't take care of Amber so he dropped her off at the orphanage. It's not known where he is now.
Flashpoint and Candle Wick
Hot Head's parents. Flashpoint and Candle Wick are extremely wealthy candlemakers. Before becoming extremely wealthy, they had Hot Head. They were very surprised to find that he was a pegasus since they are both earth ponies. Due to this, they had a hard time raising him. They had no clue how to handle a pegasus colt. He was a troublemaker and they just couldn't keep up with him. During this time, they were also having marriage problems. With all the stress they made the decision to give up Hot Head. They got a divorce soon after. Years later, they got back together. They found that they were actually a good team and they eventually made a candle company and became very successful due to their combined knowledge of business. They heard about Hot Head through the Best Young Flyer Competition and got in touch with him again. They tried regaining custody of him but didn't win.
Day Dream and Fortune Hunter
Nothing is known about these two except for they were Lucky's parents and had another son who also passed

their son prophet warns them that an accident will take them if lucky/free spirit wasn't put in an orphanage. so they take heap, they put him an orphanage. instead of an accident taking them, they all go missing with a trace leaving nothing but their belongings.

I was thinking about it and here's what I've some up for Amber's dad.
After he dumped her at the orphanage he set out to see the world in memory of his wife and to possibly find more plant species. About 10 years into this he was asked if he had kids. He hesitated and said "no". That got to him and he began wondering how his little girl was doing. Days passed and he couldn't stop thinking about her and how much she probably looked like her mother by now. What had he done? He set off back to Ponyville to maybe see if he can get her back. Not realizing that she is now a teenager and probably doesn't remember him or that she could have been adopted by now. He finds out she has not been adopted yet and is ecstatic. He sets up a meeting with her the next day.
When he arrives with a bouquet of flowers he is astounded at what he sees! A beautiful mare that looks exactly like his late wife. He breaks down and goes in for a hug...only to be stopped by a hoof to the face.
Amber has had mixed feelings since she learned of her father coming to visit. At first she was downright angry! Then she cried and wondered why he left her, then she felt disgust. Now this strange stallion wants to get to know her? AS IF!!! She felt the hair bristle up her neck as he came closer to her. No, this stallion is not her father and never will be. She thinks about the foals she's been raising and she can't leave them. Not for this dork. She kindly tells him NOT to apply for adoption because she will not go with him, EVER! Hot Head and Lucky are kind of relieved and share her disgust about her father. How dare he.
Herb leaves, sad, rejected. He tried to explain to her why he chose to give her up. But no apology can replace years of bonding they could have had.
He goes on into depression. He regrets what he did, his selfishness. Now his daughter hates him. He writes to her, only to get his letters back, unopened. He quit his job, he has no interest any more. He drinks his days away. His last attempt of contact with Amber, years later. He mails her his best photo of Isis. The one he kept on his person all the time.
He is sick and doesn't even try to help himself. For no medicine can fix a broken heart. One day, he just doesn't wake up.
No one knew he had a daughter so she doesn't know he passed. She just thinks he got the message and left her alone.
Then she recieves the picture of her mother, the worn, aged almost torn up photo. She knew. But she doesn't feel pain. She can't. For she didn't know that stallion. Her feelings solely belong to her "kids".

Its written in near experience with my life. My father left us when i was 5ish and my brother a baby. We never knew him til we were 15 and 17. I never really got close to him. He is still a raging alcoholic and im glad hes not really in my daughters life. So in a way i can kinda relate to Amber. My mom did raise us but she was also an alcoholic and drug addict. So i basically raised my brother and we often went and lived with relatives. Despite our up bringing we are good people and like to help others.

No i have not....mainly cause of the lack of colour palette for the parents....but i could do it, and just come up with my own

Well, considering you've already coloured Isis once, Amber's parents should be fairly easy. And I think judging by the kids' colour palettes it might make it easier to paint, but personally I think this one would be really fun to paint! :3 You should totally try it. I would, but the painting tools on Autodesk Sketchbook (the program which I use) don't allow me to colour it the same way you can.

You know, before reading any of this, I would of thought Hot Head was Spitfire's kid. Still a good story for the universe, but some signs pointed to it for me.

Admittedly, it was a flimsy premise for me to assume that. Figured that his skill in flying and his name being similar in a sense to Spitfire was enough, but that was it. I do like what she did for Hot Head's family though, so I'm not disappointed.

Exactly, kilala97 needs to tell batuhan2304 that Amber and Hot Head are only children. He was pestering me about giving Fluttershy a family including a younger brother he said was "canon". I told him that I won't be doing Fluttershy's family because it hasn't been confirmed yet. This person has also pestered other artists who do next gen arts by telling them what to do and stuff.

Head canon for Lucky's parents~
Day Dream and Fortune Hunter lived in the country of Prance*. Day Dream helped people decipher their dreams and find out what they ment. After finding out what their dreams meant she would sew dolls for them to help change their dreams and help them sleep better. She was always were calm and collected and rarely ever got mad. Though she was deathly afraid of unstable buildings. Fortune Hunter could have brisk visions into the future. He could tell peoples fortunes and made a small amount of money for this. He too was very calm but he was always scared for his family's well-being. When Lucky was born they couldn't have been happier. For his 1st birthday they went to Ponyville. When they were out for a walk. Lucky wandered off into a construction zone. Dream was afraid he would get hurt so she followed after him. Fortune got a vision that Dream would die so he ran in there to save her. Right then a bunch of wooden logs landed on them crushing them. Lucky got out safe and an old mare took him to the orphanage.
