Nope. When I played Europa Universalis II, I always played as the Dutch. It's what inspired my to write An Alternate History of the Netherlands.

I always wonder why so few wanted independence in referendums like this.
It's like they're afraid to go alone.

By 1824, New Amsterdam had far closer economic ties to the United States than to the United Provinces. The People like to vote with their pocketbook, and joining the Union would be profitable, well, except to the Marquis of New Amsterdam.
