-------------------------------------------------------
Personality:
Positive
Disciplined - Dignified - Forthright
An honest dog, he'll tell you what's up. He will not hide his opinion of some dog. But being a previous show dog, he might show some restraint in the way he tells it. He's not one to act out. Very reserved in some respect. It's best that way. Don't need to put shame on his family. He acts in a posh manner, years of training showing through. He can perform some tricks, but he's not one to do them unless he wants to. This commonly annoys his human, but hey, that's just shiba nature as they say. But despite this, he's a loyal dog. He doesn't run far from his home. He can be commonly found sunbathing by the koi pond. He loves to relax.
Neutral
Competitive - Folksy - Stubborn
Competitive, regardless if that is seen as good or bad, he doesn't care. He loves to win. This can be seen as dedication to some dogs and admirable. However, other dogs will often say that he's too obsessive. Never stopping, always going even when he's told he can stop. He's just too stubborn to listen at times. Which can be annoying. But being stubborn has allowed him to succeed as far as he has. Regardless, he doesn't see this as an issue. He's so caught up in his own elusions that he holds his beliefs as law. No one can tell him any different. He believes highly of his ancestral history and will do all he can to maintain this value. Some say he's just folksy, but others say he's just brainwashed.
Negative
Abrasive - Apathetic - Critical
He definitely can come off as abrasive at times. He doesn't hold back on his opinion on some dogs, but he'll say it in a dignified manner at least. That doesn't help the sting though. He will overly analyze his opponent and make highly critical complaints on them, regardless if they hear it. He doesn't care if they do, in-fact he would prefer it. He shows no empathy to those he views beneath him. Stray dogs watch out. He's just an overly pompous pet dog.
But despite all this, he is just an old dog longing for friendship, even if he won't admit it. He's hard to get along with, but with enough patience he is genuine. Almost caring. But you would never know with the way he presents himself.

Backstory:
Adzuki, once a renowned show dog, was born from prestigious show-ring parents. He was the pick of the litter as the humans would say. He was always told he was the best and it showed true through the competition rings. But nothing captivated him more than the stories his mamma would tell him back when he was a young pup. The stories of his ancestors and the motherland. He was taught that he was from a prestigious bloodline of Shiba inus. His ancestors once sat on the laps of the great emperor, helping guide them to their victory's. They would even help command armies of their cousin breed, the Akita inu. But they were dethroned and forgotten during the great war of the land. Their family lines were almost squashed out. It is only by a miracle from the gods' favor that they were able to continue on. His mother warned him that he must never forget this. He must pass this knowledge on to his offspring so that they know how great they are.
With this knowledge, Adzuki always held his head up high. He strived to be the best of his breed, to be the best out of all dogs. To prove his lineage was the best. His delicate and careful breeding aiding his scores when entering competition. He's even won best in show on multiple occasions. He was the best and he knew it. He would look down at other dogs, as he knew he was the best. Never giving any dog that he seen as below him the time of day. He even got to sire a couple of pups. One went on to even compete as well. But his ego would soon take a hit due to his aging body. All his years being spent at the top just to be squandered by the competition in the first round. How could this happen? Was he really getting that old? He was only 6 years old at the time, still in his prime to his belief. But this was just the start of his losing streak. He would be entered a couple more times, each one taking a hit at his ego as he failed to place any relevant spot. Other dogs would mock him each time he failed to place. It was time to retire, reluctantly. He was not happy about this. His time in the light was over. No more cheering, no more prizes, nothing.
As he aged further, Adzuki's confidence began to dwindle to nothing. He even started to wonder if the stories from his puphood were even true. How could someone so great become so depleted? He began to grow depressed. He spent most of his days sulking on his humans couch. He was sure nothing good will come from the remainder of his life.
But just when life seemed bleak. His human decided to relocate to a new place, Canidale. A place he knew nothing about! At least his humility of losing during the final ends of his career shouldn't be known. But that's also a problem, these dogs don't know how great he once was. And he wasn't about to teach them in fear of his failure being revealed. No, this was a new opportunity for him. He could make a name for himself among these new dogs, as long as none of them recognised him. He would rebuild his reputation as one of the best. He would teach the stories of his great ancestry to others just so they knew he was one of a kind. This opportunity wouldn't be taken from him, he was sure of it.
