I wanted to try the methods I used for this picture again, and I think it came out well, although it looks a lot creepier than I would've liked. The little boy on the left kept looking like he had a forty year old man's face for the longest time, but when I did color he improved. Also, I wasn't really sure how much my first photo study would help me, but I noticed that it helped me here with drawing the ears (they all got covered up in the final version, unfortunately) and the little boy's short, curly hair.(All characters are my own)

Quería intentar los métodos que usé por esta pintura otra vez, y pienso que resultó bien, aunque parece mucho más escalofriante que hubiera gustado. El niño en la izquierda era pareciendo como tuvo la cara de un hombre que tiene cuarenta y pico por mucho tiempo, pero cuándo coloreé, mejoró. También, no estaba muy segura cuánto mi primer estudio de una foto me ayudaría, pero noté que me ayudó aquí con dibujar las orejas (todos fueron cubiertas en la versión final, desafortunadamente) y el pelo corto y rizado del niño.

I block out the hair and the general shadows first without being too detailed, then I make my brush very small (but not too small) and I draw the strands of hair by varying the shades of color and keeping in mind the direction of the hair and those general shadows I first laid out. Then, I usually finish by adding some fly away hairs using the small brush, but in this drawing I added way more than I usually do to the character on the right because he doesn't brush his hair. You can see the normal amount of fly away hairs I do for a well-groomed character here , if you'd like.
