I don't know if there are problems with lens flares and whatnot, all I see is one very deep and beautiful picture. Congratulations.

I'm sorry for my bad English. I mean Oriental and Occidental elements (kimono vs. lace stockings, and etc.)

well done really!!!
love teh colors kind of hurts my eyes though XD
ps:the background is weird but I think detailing it will taketoo much the focus off the character mayve no crosses at all would have been better.

pps:Wonderful

I think it was very well done.. Not many will use symbols of beauty like a butterfly and make her look like a creature of the night like a vampire. Cause even in the darkness there is still beauty, you just have to look pass the violence and the blood and just see the beauty of the art in its whole.. Love the outcome you combine both well.

i really enjoy the concept, colors, emotions, composition, everything in this except for two things.

1-i feel that the harshness of the white light at the top draws my eyes away from the girl and is sort of distracting me. it's leading my eyes up and off the picture.

2-it seems like her head and face or a little too small in proportion to her body. i know that she has her head tilted up and back, which would make it appear smaller and such, but it seems to be too small. also, her neck seems a little too long, which seems to be making her head/face look even smaller adn more out of proportion.

i hope you don't feel like i chopped on your art. i really do think that it is beautiful.

Hi! Great pic! May I ask you how you drew the flowers on the dress? They are amazing and they make all the pic seem more realistic

kidkidkidkid In reply to Johndowson [2007-04-13 06:23:19 +0000 UTC]

I used a filter in Photoshop: Distort > Displace... to match up the original flower pattern to the surface curves.
It's a quite useful filter

I love this best among the other treats in your gallery...

so vibrantly colourful... glaring so that it is beautiful and gives a sense of danger as well... whatever that means

I love how you draw boobs, really. normally i don't like when men draw big boobs girl since I'm a feminist. But you draw them wonderfully i can't take my eyes of it.

holy crap, that's a good concept you got there !
I'm not very good with critique...but the lightings sort of bad...also, I can't tell if she has another leg because it's sort of hidden. Anyhow...it's a really nice concept that you've mixed

I don't know who i am to criticized your work.
I like it very much and i've added it to my favourite.

like Chao-ken I think that the light is not very good here. I don't know exactly what to say. I think that the light seems very artificial contrary to the great quality of the character. The opposition between them make the light seems to be "bad" even if it's not.

But this is a very good pic to me and very well done. And I don't know how to well colored a picture so I found your work wonderfull !

hmm another nice picture...well its probably not in my taste but regardless the execution of this picture is very well done. Again i see your trademark red all on the picture, , recently ive been trying to use greys more i suppose sorta similar to what master Hyung Tae Kim does .

Anyway i'm sure you want a critique so ill give you one that seems to bug me a little, the character and the bottom background are very detailed and very well done, but unbfortunately what seems to bring the quality down a slight bit is the rather ambiguous lighting on the top, it's just that the top lighting looks rather artificial and also the top of the background is rather simple.
I'm not sure what you could to to make it more appealing, i suppose if the backround location is inside a building you could perhaps add more background of the building rather than leaving it blank.
bit also for the lighting maybe you should make it more stronger and perhaps more natural looking, maybe a red light beam coming through a hole with a bright red moon, or something that would somehow suit the atmosphere of the picture, whch would most likely require some red in.

Sorry i can't help you much there, but its a wonderful picture nevertheless keep it up. Oh yeah btw i take it you program of choice is photoshop?

Yes it's Photoshop, sometimes I use Painter too but I'm more familiar with Photoshop. After reading your critiques on my works I found out that I should stop using Lense Flare filter now lol. I agree with what you say and I'll take time to modify the background and light
