I've been acting irresponsibly,but what could possibly
go wrong?
Just random shading practice with 'Nny. Not entirely happy with it, but it was at the point where it wasn't getting any closer to what was in my head, so it was best just to post it. 9.9; Oh wellz. I was going for 'deranged,' how'd I do?

You got deranged. XD Trust me. I like the key he's holding in his fingers, there. Gives it that extra little touch. I also like how the letters are kinda blobby and unsteady. And I'm making this a desktop wallpaper, despite (or maybe because of) it's complete unsuitability for wallpaper-dom. >:d

I forget what font I used, because I went through a font site and downloaded a TON of fonts that were almost alike and I don't remember which of them I settled on. 6.6 But each letter was its own layer in Photoshop so I could move them around and make them wobbly. 8B That was fun.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with Noktur about the "evil genius" look, and also with InvaderDemeter that probably a bigger smile would push it to "deranged". Right now, he looks a little too "there" for "deranged," I think, which actually kind of makes it scarier, in a way. It totally adds to the mood, though. Along with the background/font thing. The font looks great. And the multicolored shadows look reeeeeheeheeally cool, especially because it's Nny, and it looks like ... weird creepy lighting + "I don't get out much." Which also fits.
Are we to assume that he's mysteriously acquired the key, or that he's handcuffed himself just for the hell of it? Or is it something entirely different and I'm way off? >.>

9.9 Oh he did it to himself. The whole, 'I don't wants 2 feel nuffin no mo', I wants to be away from de world' thing. Like at the end of the JtHM series, 'Nny wants nothing more than to just be in charge of his own self and brains for a change. I think that makes him a lot scarier than thinking he's in the subconscious command of some otherworldly entity. I mean, the choice is his what to do with that freedom. 8B So yesh, maybe the 'there'-ness actually gets my point across better than if he just looked completely off-the-wall nutso.
I had to go through about three giant font sites to find a font I liked for this and now I don't even remember what it's called so I can use it again without guessing and going through all my fonts to find it. XD; I went and put each letter in separate though so I could make it all wiggly and uneven. SOMEday, I shall learn to make my OWN fonts! And things will be really scary then, boy oh boy. 6.6

Unfortunately, I went and erased it while I was working on the hand-done lineart. 9.9; I'd gotten the nose how I wanted it and didn't want to start over, so I just took my erase-stick to the thing. XD;; Oops.

He doesn't quite look deranged to me. He kinda has that feel to him that Hannibal Lectar has as he's plotting to dismember some guards. So more like... evil genius?

derangement has been achieved here. even his deranged is deranged;
he's totes plotting. but is he plotting to loose the cuffs and go get a freezy? (totally had a blueraspberry one today <3) or is he going to loose the cuffs and kill/torture? or (this is me reading too much into expressions) might he even be so deranged as to loose his very "morals" and do naughty things to whomever he's staring at?
this picture has surpassed deranged; it's positively schizo.
