Description
You have been backpacking by yourself through South America for the last 2 months. Now you're in Colombia, which you always wanted to visit, because of its wildlife. There are a lot of tours that show you all different kinds of plants and animals, but you prefer to organize your own trips and go off the beaten track. So, you go to the Chocó-Darién moist forests, where you visit some parks and do some bird watching and diving.

But today you decide to go deep into the jungle. You walk for some hours in the middle of trees and plants, until you find a clearing. When you get close to it, you see some wooden houses and sheds, people with military uniforms, chickens on the loose and a flag saying Ejército de Liberación Nacional. You get curious and decide to get closer, always trying not to be seen.

You go behind a wooden shed, and notice that it's full of boxes, guns and what seems to be drugs. You realize it's dangerous to be there but, when you're about to turn around and run, you feel a cold metal object on your back. It's a military guy pointing a gun at you, and saying: "What do you think you're doing here? Where do you come from?". You're scared and nervously say: "Please, don't shoot, I'm an American citizen.". He laughs and says out loud: "Escuchen muchachos, atrapamos a un gringo y ni siquiera tuvimos que cazarlo, vino a nosotros.".

He tells you to go with him, sit on a chair and leave your backpack on the ground, and you obey. He picks some ropes, ties your hands behind the back and your chest and feet to the chair. Then he says: "We are now going to tell our government that we have you, and how much we demand to release you. We haven't done kidnaps for a long time, but it's a good thing you decided to visit us. Now, be a good gringo and open your mouth.". You do it, and he shoves a cloth inside your mouth, wraps it with a lot of duct tape and puts 2 white cloths over everything.

You stay like that until it's almost dawn, when finally an official from the Colombian government shows up, pays $10 000 for your release and takes you to the closest airport.
