Creature [3] of my beastiaryYes, it is finally done. As you can tell, I still haven't fully grasped digital media, but the transition from traditional to digital media has actually been a lot smoother than I had anticipated.
This piece took quite a lot of planning, and initially, I had intended for it to be a mugshot only. But I changed my mind halfway through painting the bust, and proceeded to plan out the rest of the body. Because I tried to keep up with the level of detail on the mask, I worked at a irritatingly large magnification through most of it.
I can be really indecisive when it comes to original concepts..which slows the process..This would be a good example, hehe. Well I hope you guys like it!
Estimated time: 9 hours or planning and work.

the details are spectacular. the winged figure on the mask looks like an ethereal being with the way that you positioned the 3 dots, like its flying and eerily sighing as it flies; the tattoos on his chest and the way the arms meld into the bird talons is wonderful, and the facial scruff is well done.
i can only imagine some of the other creatures you might make.

Thank you v much! Working at that huge magnification was really irritating. Because just when I thought I finished a decent chunk of it, I zoomed out and then proceeded to facepalm.

Haha, that happens to me a lot as well. Or when I use traditional media, everything looks great on paper, but when I scan it and get to look at it perfectly straight, I notice so many imperfections. It usually takes a good half hour to fix all those flaws before I'm satisfied. xD
