Grass, grass, and more grass as far as the eye could see…and it was sickening. Saera’s eyes rolled far back into her head as she let out a frustrated groan. She leaned back as far as she possibly could, staring up at the cloudless blue sky. Cassis had always had the desire to explore inland, loving the uncharted wonders and sheer mystery of it. Sure the black halfmane enjoyed water, however she seemed to lack the instinctive fear of being without it that Saera, Rhani and May found so natural. It had come to a point where Rhani and May would often refuse to go off on adventures with her, and Saera would likely have joined them if she didn’t have such a softspot for her.

“I can’t believe you convinced me to do this,” Saera grunted, squinting her grey eyes in desperate hope to find even a marsh at this point. Even leeches and much seemed preferable to the unrelenting mid-day sun on her human skin. The whole thing would be much more pleasant in her seal body she mused, but it was impossible to ride in that shape, and without a body of water it was entirely impractical to keep up. She had thought about trying to make a saddle that would allow for such a crazy thing, however all three of her girls seemed to despise saddles, and even the light rug they usually wore was not happily accepted. Saera had used what little magic she could to enchant them to help with irritation and stability, but she knew well that anything more would be well be far beyond her ability.

I see something! Cassis announced with what almost seemed like a chuckle.

“WHAT!?” Saera squeaked, squeaked scrambling to sit upright and searching frantically for whatever her companion observed. Initial excitement was quickly replaced by confusion and finally annoyance as it became clear what the halfmane was talking about. “Rocks? You see bloody rocks. Well that’s just fabulous.” Sure enough the sea of green seemed now polluted with bright red specks, although unusual somewhat in colour, the rocks were not exactly anything noteworthy.

“Well, I think I’m going to take a better look at them,” Saera announced with a yawn, Cassis responded by coming to a complete stop, allowing the handler to slip off – although not without confusion from the Tokota. “Yep – just as I thought…” Saera noted slapping the rock. “Perfect napping material.” The halfmane grunted a rebuttal.

I'm hoping to post more once this horrible headache dies down, but I'm really excited to say that this brings Cassis to 1 HP away from average!

I'm imagining exploring away from water with Saera would be horrible...she would probably demand random naps half the time and be in sealform in the most inappropriate places xD Was originally supposed to be a fishing picture with water and all, but I couldn't stop laughing at the idea of a seal in the middle of a field snoozing along with a less-than-pleased Cassis.
