Woo! This was like SO refreshing to do at the middle of all the stuff I should have been doing. Gave me the perfect excuse to think about something else for a moment. Phew!
Dundunn... Ok, random rant incoming. Escape while you still can.
I love this character. It was a joy to draw her. It's really great to see oldschool-punkish characters for a change! I don't mean to bark but modern day punks are just... Too much. They all seem to be in a great competition called "Who wears the most accessories and haz the most dumpo-ass-crazy-coloured-hair-with-trim" competition. Plus, the modern look seem to attract a great deal of posers, who doesn't even know the culture. I mean look at the original punk style. All they had was bald head, simple shirt and rugged jeans. Gee, the time has changed. Olive is awesome. She isn't over-doing it, and I just love it. Plus she is Grunge. GRUNGE IS ALWAYS WIN.
...Plus I like redheads.
Humm, ok. Now then. I'm not sure did I get all the details right, probably didn't but bleh! If even half of them are right, I'm happy!
Err, not sure if she had nails, but since nails are awesome, IT WAS DECIDED.
This was actually very experimental work. Since I don't actually like the general way I colour stuff, I tried something different. Plus I did it with this new Sai painter I just bumped into some time ago. Still with the trial ver! But so far I'm liking it, and seems to be a lot better for colouring than OC! Happy happy!

I love how simple and real she looks; combined with the dusty summer afternoon haze, the whole thing's so believable that the Pokemon look almost out of place.

I like that she looks so mature. and that the picture isn't a typical pokemon "we are a happy family"picture. it is more that the pokemon are part of the background but it is still a pokemon picture. I like that. That it is so different from the most pokemon related pictures.
