I can't think of anything right now, but I may come up with a similar scenario in the future. And I appreciate your appreciation.

Muchas gracias. Sorry that I can't come up with anything more eloquent in Spanish, but my high school Spanish is very rusty. Thanks for being a fan.

It's interesting to think about how these two might have been when they were younger. Richelle no doubt would have been teased for her height - Rhonda maybe because she is a redhead. Any little difference can make a young person a target in school. Kids can be mean sometimes...

How sad for you. But I'm sure you've gotten over it. Personally, I don't know why some people have a problem with redheads. I myself love redheaded women, whether they're short or tall.

Don't I know it! I was teased mercilessly in grammar school and as a result, I got into numerous fights and was suspended for a week. And yes, in one instance with Rhonda, as she was having a little snooze, she was obviously dreaming, for Stuart, her boyfriend, while trying to wake her, heard her mumble, "No, Mom, I don't wanna' go to school. The other kids tease me." Apparently she was teased in grammar school. High school was different; Rhonda actually led a group of "mean girls." Richelle might very well have been teased for being so short, but you'll have to ask Gulliver63 about that since she's his OC. And yes, kids in school, no matter what country, can be cruel. Still, I hope you liked my little bit of humor here. Thank you for your comment.

Can I assume that Rhonda had an epiphany at some point and stopped being mean?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
kiff57krocker In reply to El-ManTTP [2017-08-14 18:41:56 +0000 UTC]
Yes. By Rhonda's own admission, she's always been "boy crazy," and eventually gave up her little girl group in order to chase after any boy that caught her fancy. Plus, she realized that being mean to other girls, especially the ugly ones, wasn't all it was cracked up to be, especially when Rhonda saw one such girl crying piteously after having been given a "swirly" by the mean girls. The sight just broke Rhonda's heart and she helped clean the poor girl up and afterwards walked her home after school. So yes, that was the epiphany that changed Rhonda's attitude towards other girls.

This reminds me of an episode of Daria I saw way back when. Similar dialogue, but no one was laughing...

I confess that I did borrow this bit of dialogue from the Daria series. But whereas Daria (who seems to lack a sense of humor) did not laugh, I had Rhonda and Richelle find the humor in an embarrassing situation for boys, and it was enough to make them laugh. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you kindly. It was a bit of a challenge to show Richelle laughing, so I used the same technique that I use whenever I show Rhonda laughing. Of course I use a totally different technique whenever I show a male character laughing. What I loved best about this pic was not only showing the differences in clothing for both ladies but also that they have shared high school exeriences. And I'm glad you approve of Rhonda and Richelle being gal pals.

Another thing I wanted to compliment you on, even though it's a tiny thing, is that your background looks great...I love the little telephone poles and lines you used.
One of the things you use with Richy is that you give her these neat little curls of hair at the edges...I don't do that, but I think it looks really neat. Keep doing it.

Again, thank you kindly. I wanted a background showing a typical suburban neighborhood which often has things like telephone poles and lots of trees. That was the sort of neighborhood block that I grew up in. And I'm also happy that you approve of the way I styled Richy's hair. I thought that while her hair is definitely short (like her) it should also have a little curliness to it. And of course I gave her hair a honey blonde tint in contrast to Rhonda's dark red hair. And since you wish me to continue to draw Richelle in this fashion, I shall do so whenever I do a pic with her in it. BTW, thanks again for another fave.

Oh, I love how you draw her. I love her hair, her shoes, her height. For comparison, I typically use like Y19 Napoli Yellow on her hair and then come in with YR 15 Pumpkin Yellow; for Rhonda I started in with the Pumpkin Yellow, and went for YR09 Chinese Orange.
You've got them going as a great team.

For Richelle's hair color, I use Golden Yellow followed by Light Orange. For Rhonda's hair color, I again use Golden Yellow followed by Cadmium Orange. Shading is done in Cool Gray 4. Again, I'm happy you approve of the way I draw Richelle.
