My first O.C. Makuta
Varen was brought into being by Mata Nui 100,000 years ago on a island in the south of the
Matoran Universe out of a green liquid (Antidermis; created by the Great Beings) to create new Rahi to
populate the universe. He use to be good friends with Mutran and Chirox and very dedicated to his work, he specialized in predator Rahi. After the Matoran Civil War was stopped in Metru Nui he was assigned to Terra Nui.
He fell in love with Toa Tess, a member of his Hagah team, when Teridax's Hagah stole the Mask of Light he was ordered to kill his team. He did as ordered but sized Tess and imprisoned her in his fortress. She eventually escaped and he has vowed to find her.

Varen use to be biomechanical but later evolved into pure energy, in this form he no longer
needed to eat, sleep, breath or feel as much pain.
Vastly intelligent Varen had immense pride in himself like others of his kind but was kinder then
most other Makuta, befriending his Toa team and several Matoran on his island, he also fell in love with
Tess a member of his Hagah team. After he killed his Hagah and imprisoned Tess he suppressed his inner
light and becoming fierce, crueler and more violent.
Like other Makuta Varen can produced kraata with forty two powers as well as shape shift,
teleport, sense other Makuta, create a shadow hand to grab or absorb things and is telepathic.
Varen wears the Mask of disorder, it lets it’s wearer cast their opponent into a confused state both physically and mentally.
