I loved that episode too 8D I think what people who diss TOS fail to recognize is that the story is actually deep with a lot of meaning and quite daring for the 60's....it's not all about special effects and such XD
favourite part of the ep must be Spock's killing-is-illogical-oh-shit-captain-in-danger-let's-kick-some-ass XD

Yesssssss. or at least I think you're thinking of the same one. It's the one with the monster (Horta) that lives in caves and dissolves people with acid. Captain Kirk & Co. go down to solve problems and figure out the Horta is only protecting its eggs, which the humans thought were useless rocks. Horta likes Spock and compliments his ears~~ so cute.
I loved Jim and Spock interactions in that episode so much. And then poor Bones getting beamed down to do something completely unrelated to medicine, as always.
