Description This is Artie, my 3-ish month old Bearded Dragon. I introduced him to the 'Dinks' the two baby axolotls that I raised from eggs (the only two of 40+ eggs...). The one pictured is named Quetzal (the other is Yoshi)

They both looked like they wanted to eat each other XD. Here it's more of a, "Mom, can I eat it???")

Wow, that's pretty interesting.

I didn't know you could own axolotls. How much did they cost?

Artie's really cute. >w<

You can't get axolotls in the wild (they are critically endangered) but a lot of universities will use lab ones for research. I got them for free from my school since there was a surplus. You can also get them online...prices range from about $10 to a lot more...

He's my sweetie

Yeah, I was going to say... looks exotic. And I believe it's an artificial species. Whatever that means. Hmm... I hope my university magically get surpluses~! They're so cute. A real life mudkip!

Well, axolotls are natural. They are only found in one lake in Mexico I believe (hence the endangered) The ones used for research are so genetically inbred/unknown that they can't be released into the wild. The ones I have are leustic which means that they have black eyes but no melanin in their skin (wild ones are brown/black) There are also albino, and variations within these colors. They're pretty awesome
