Description Variations of a scenario in which King Tigranes II "The Great" of Armenia creates a greater empire that essentially replaces Parthia as the great rival of Rome. Scenarios 1-3 depict depict different possible points of divergence in the West, while scenarios a-b depict different outcomes of a later alliance with Bactria against Parthia in the East.

POD's
Scenario 1: Lucius Licinius Lucullus engages Marcus Marius at Otroea instead of waiting for the latter's supplies to run out, ending in a decisive victory for Marius. This allows Mithridates VI to continue his siege of Cyzicus, culminating in a complete Pontic victory in Asia in the Third Mithridatic War.
Scenario 2: Tigranes' general Mithrobazanes successfully attacks Lucullus' Roman army while they're setting up camp, forcing a full route and allowing Tigranes to sweep through Asia Minor and push the Romans back across the Bosporus. Mithridates VI is reestablished on the Pontic throne as an Armenian client king in the North of Asia Minor while Tigranes sends Mithrobazanes to govern the West in his stead.
Scenario 3: Tigranes defeats Lucullus at the Battle of Tigranakert and the Romans pull back to Asia Minor. Tigranes pursues and continues to push the Romans back but is unable to achieve a decisive victory. Pompey is sent to replace Lucullus as commander of the Roman forces and brings the war to an effective standstill. A treaty is signed that divides Asia Minor between the two powers, including placing Mithridates VI back on the throne of the (much reduced) Pontic kingdom as an Armenian client.

Alliance With Bactria
Scenario a: Minimal Bactrian expansion
Scenario b: Limited Bactrian expansion
