In 2014 during my first (out of three) years at an animation school in Padua, one of our teachers one day, when we studied a bit of claymation, showed us this mexican short film from 2001, and it was about this guy dying, ending up in a pub-looking afterlife populated by dead people (skeletons) and he sees this skeleton hostess singing La Llorona because according to her, the director of the short film said that hearing that song made him imagine the scenario depicted in his animation: a dude in a pub of skeletons having to accept death.

What made me recall and draw this was the still fresh in mind viewing of Coco. When Imelda sang that song, I was probably the only one in the world (with the exception of my teacher maybe) who had a massive nerdgasm because I made the connection to Hasta los Huesos.
