Description
I see characters like, say, Papyrus getting a shitton of fangirls... when the truth is, if someone with his personality existed, girls would be repelled by him, screw him over, and maybe even bully the shit out of him. I wonder how many fans that identify with Alphys are in real life delusional snooty fuckgirls/boys who mistreat others and then project themselves on characters like her to feel good about themselves.
These are the actual responses awkward characters would get if they were real:
"Piss off nerd, I don't care."
"Look how cringy that retard is!"
"Oh my god, STOP being depressed for once!"
"Jesus, your voice is so annoying."
"Look, it's cute and all, but you're not my type, don't talk to me again."
"WHAT THE FUCK! Watch where you're going, you dumbass!"
Fictional characters DON'T EXIST. They're just pictures, they don't NEED your love.
...But real human beings do. And they're hurt if you treat them poorly.
I'm not asking you to marry them, but if they're trying to fit in or be kind towards you, show some fucking respect or at the very least be patient. I know I swear a lot and use hyperbole, but in real life I treat socially awkward people as patiently and kindly as I can, because I want people around me to feel comfortable.
They already are insecure and troubled, and getting hate would just make their lives harder.
