They said this decision will last forever.
At least...that's what they said when they BOUGHT the 4th season. The actual production of S4 started after the episode was released and the complaints came in on how bad it was.
Hasbro loves money, so I don't know how long they'll keep Twilight an Alicorn. She'll probably do the Rayearth route and give it up. Either that or each of the Mane 6 will have their destinies and powers enhanced in some way.
