Description A theropod-like Brute Wyvern, the Brachydios has a unique symbiotic relationship with a special lime green slime mold that grows from it's "pounders" and it's horn.  The slime mold has highly explosive properties, but only when it's in an active state.  The Brachydios primes this slime with it's saliva by licking it's arms.  The Brachydios, while having strong jaws and a hammer-like clubbed tail, mainly uses this slime in combat, punching it's prey with it's "pounders" and it's horn, covering them in the slime.  The slime won't explode on contact but instead over a short course of time.  If the slime turns red, it's close to exploding.  However, when Brachydios enter a "rage mode" the slime WILL start exploding on contact.

Brachydios live in mainly more extreme environments, but are very adaptable.  They can be found in the hottest volcanic regions, to cold tundras, and in temperate forests.  They are carnivores closely related to the Deviljho and Dinovaldo, preying on mostly anything smaller than itself, but it occasionally tackles large prey as well.  They appear to be solitary animals.  Their attractive bluish-purple hide and lime green slime are prized by hunters, and are used for armor and special weaponry.

Monster Hunter and it's creatures are owned by Capcom.

I know I said my next piece was going to be another updated picture of a species I've done in the past, but I couldn't resist posting this one.

I'll probably get around to draw Glavenus sometime.  I'm gonna try to do each monster at some point; and ol' Glavenus is one that I definitely wanna work on.

Yay. I can't wait.
btw have you ever heard of the game theory that all of the monsters in the monster hunter universe are descended from extinct animals?

Haven't heard any specific theories but judging by the appearance of many of them, it's something I could believe.

For example uragaan and glavenus look like they're descended from the same type of dinosaur that diverged into two different species. Possibly carnotaurus judging by the horns.

Lagiacrus is descended from a crocodilian.

Barioth, nargacuga, Tigrex, rathalos, and zinogre are descended from mammal like reptiles. Mainly because most of them possess hair/fur, differentiated teeth, and external mammalian ears.
