Description God zij geprezen! Zegeningen voor de paus! Heil aan de keizer van Rome!

Name: Charlemagne

Born: April 2nd, 742, 747 or 748, Frankish Kingdom

Death: 28th of January, 814, Aachen Francia

Bio: Charlemagne was the 2nd king of the Carolingian Frankish Kingdom. His most notable achievements are the conquest of the Lombards, the conquest and war with the Saxons, and his Claim as "Emperor of Rome" by the Pope, on Christmas Day. He was usually someone who dressed in the traditional Frankish attire, and was not one for fancy clothing, he would only wear them if he was demanded to. He created many reforms such as Religous, Political, and Educational reforms. Charlemagne also had an unsuccessful campaign into Islamic Iberia. He also forcefully converted the Saxons, which led to the Frankish and Saxon war. The most notable thing about Charlemagne's relationship with the Saxons is cutting down the tree known as Irminsul, a symbol of the Pagan Saxon religion. Charlemagne would also had a slight conflict with the Danes, until Godfred, the Danish king, was killed, and was replaced by his nephew Hemming I, and the Treaty of Heiligen was signed. He also had campaigns in the East against the Slavs and Avars, and subjugated them under his rule.

Charlemagne died in Aachen, and was succeeded by his son Louis the Pious, who would go on to divide the Empire amongst his sons. Charlemagne is Called "Father of Europe" (Pater Europae) because of his achievement in Uniting Western Europe for the first time in years since the fall of the Western Roman Empire.

decided to make this since hasn't made one himself.

what's surprising is that, we have movies of William Wallace, and Many other figures, but Charlemagne, they guy shaped Europe into what it is today, gets possibly no movie recognition.

I chose dutch mostly because it's the closest relative to the Frankish language.

Frisian is actually an Anglo-Frisian Language, than a Low Franconian Language.

My mistake.
It would have actualy be old dutch witch sound's more like african rather than modern dutch (Atleast it does to me, I know there is a difference)
But then again Charlemagne probably spoke some form of latin

it's alright. Also yes, Charlemagne definitely spoke Latin, as that was the language of the upper class of Francia at the time.
