Wow, this is really amazing. The bright color of the ladybug, its glossy surface reflecting the light on its shell really makes a wonderful effect to the picture. And I love the grayscale surrounding it. Just beautiful how it's the main focus of the picture and pops so well. Good Job.

basically cos there was nothing else to do lol, I live in a village where there is basically cows, flowers, birds the odd bee and a bus once an hour. the woodpecker genuinly seemed like the most interesting thing likely to happen on saturday

No I used the 18-55 kit lense that came with my camera, It's got a stupidly close minimum focal lenght so you can zoom to the full 55mm and get literally inches away from your target.
