Baron Eric von Emmelman was a flying ace in the early days of war world 1. The Baron fought Dracula and lost. His plane crashed into a swamp, that has very long strange and bloody history.
the Baron refused to die and over a long time, the Baron's merged with mystical energies of the swamp, turn him into a creature neither animal nor man, a nearly mindless heap of living earth planet matter that now wonders the earth unaware of past.
The Heap is sometimes found in the company of the Frankenstein Monster, even though the two have come to blows a lot of the time.
