It is part of my documentary work for a workshop by Stella Johnson that I have been following these past two weeks.

This is mister Nikos. He works there for quite some years. He runs the whole place almost alone. Day by day. The work is difficult and tiring. Even the place is a hard one to work inside - especially the smell is not something one can withstand easily. Yet, he never loses his smile nor does he complain. "There are always jobs that are hard to do. This one is not an easy, but there are sure worse jobs", he told me.

"This is a dying profession, we will probably close the place in a year or two". Leathers and other replacements for leathers coming from countries like China, sweep the market making the whole business worthless to operate. I myself didn't know the place was still operational, till I got there in the morning with my camera to use the morning light. In a way, this could probably be one of last opportunities to document this place while "alive".
