So those who heard, yesterday a leak seemed to show rayman was coming to smash bros 4. Well not even a full day later, someone admitted to making this nearly convincing leak and confirming it a fake.I personally hoped it was true, but noticed the inconsistencies in it (like the lack of an announcer, the fact that his intro pic and the icon were the same pic).
Honestly its a shame its false now, but it seems Rayman himself was hoping it'd be true, but finding out it was fake, and how the person responsible acted about it, kinda pissed rayman off, now Mario is holding rayman back from going across the internet to punch the guy out! XD cause rayman actually thought it was true, went to smash HQ, only to learn he's been tricked by a good renderer.
although I'm rather disappointed at both the leak being fake and the person who made it to trick everyone. i am not that angry about it, but i kinda feel bad that a lot of fans were tricked by this and today get their hopes dashed.

i like rayman and id like him to be dlc but i dont think ubisoft themselves deserve a character in smashΒ

rayman though is the only real ubi soft character that would fit into smash, but yea ubisoft really doesn't have a lot of ips that would also fit the bill (ecept maybe aurora)

well if you look at ubisofts records it took them a while to put some of their games on the wii u and they said the wii u was last gen and the rayman legends thing is still kind of bad as the game was ready to go but it got needlessly delayedΒ

I really didn't think Rayman deserved it anyway, and I wouldn't have cared if he got in. I want Rundas from Metroid Prime 3 to get in. Metroid deserves one more. Metroid still only has one if you think about it. If Smash 3DS didn't exist, Zero Suit Samus would still be part of Samus, much like Sheik is part of Zelda.Β
I do like the amount of effort the guy put into it though. I'm not mad at all. I love that he put so much effort into it, and even got Ubisoft to say they were going to make a statement of this.Β

yea although rayman's one of the more vocal 3rd party character to have been wanted in, i too kinda saw through the leak and noticed the inconsistencies.
but really i feel nintendo would first use the nostaliga effect on dlc, before trying to go with newer characters

If more DLC happens, I feel they should add in a new character next, and then a veteran, new character, veteran. Alternate them. And throw in some stage DLC just for good measure.Β

I could see Rayman being in Smash, but I could think of several other characters that are more deserving of a slot before Rayman, no offense.

there are a lot of characters who would be more deserving: krystal, king k rool, magolor, even dr eggman

I mean, Rayman didn't even start on a Nintendo system. His first game was on the PC. His first console game was on the PlayStation.

While I'm not a huge Rayman fan. I kinda would wish he was in even though the only Rayman games I've played are the Raving Rabids series at least the first 2 games and Origins and Legends. I do know he would be an interesting character to the roster even more so than Krystal from the Star Fox series. Then again I thought the leak was fake since I have a big hatred for them especially when they are soon proven true even for Smash Brothers since that stupid leak before the game came out just ruined the surprise of the Unlockable Characters for the roster, but that's in the past and while this leak was just one big troll to Rayman fans now that's been proven false I still kinda hoped it would've been true. Oh well.

tbh though i woulda found it funy if he instead tried to troll the delphox fans by making a fake leak of that. cause that tbh is a ridiculous character to try and get in smash bros. we got enough pokemon and fire users already

Yeah we have a lot of that already. We have Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Ike, Robin, Charizard and several others who can use Fire Special Moves. Though I'm still hoping future DLC might be made or the next entry to add fan favorite characters even though I know Sakurai isn't gonna be making it since he said Smash 4 would be his last game to work on but it wouldn't mean the end of the series that's for sure. Though Smash Brothers is one of Sakurai's most stressful game series he's worked on especially this new game since he worked on the game 24/7 even after being diagnosed with Tendinitis talk about a dedicated man right?

Yeah he did and he kept working on it even after being diagnosed with it. Look up Did You Know Gaming on YouTube it had the Smash 4 Announcer Xander Mobis as the commentator for that episode and it explains Sakurai's troubles and stress he had to go through as well as what other things we didn't know about Smash 4.
