Description
A gigantic hundreds feet-long worm like monstrosities that infested planet Yaddith (and possibly others too)... I imagine them as being sort of planetary disease, draining minerals for nutrition and destroying the surface by tunneling under it until the planet becomes uninhabitable. They seem to be almost invinvible as the Yaddithians who were much more advanced race than we are, despite their emplyment of both magic and hi tech failed to defeat them completely."There were hideous struggles with the bleached viscous Dholes in the primal tunnels that honeycombed the planet.(...)Below him the ground was festering with gigantic Dholes, and even as he looked, one reared up several hundred feet and leveled a bleached, viscous end at him."

Creepyness! I haven't read "Through the Gates of the Silver Key," but I did read "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" and Dholes are briefly mentioned there if I recall. I like your interpretation of what they are in the description and what they are in the drawing. All in all - six stars out of five!

I recomment to read both "Silver Key" and "Trough the Gate of Silver Key". They reveal what happened with Randolph Carter in later life.
As for the Dhole of Pnath I have a bit different version of it I plan to draw in the future.

I know the basic outline of "The Silver Key" - Randolph Carter has lost his dreams, but somehow uses a magic silver key to regress into childhood. That was surprisingly nice. And I know that "Through the Gate of the Silver Key" deals with something slightly more Mythos. But honestly I don't know how he would get to that stage in his regressed state. I'll have to read and find out!
It's good to know you're gonna draw another Dhole!
