Description
It is heavily based on my Shantak Bird design for a reason. I believe that mysterious "Father of all Shantaks" that was mentioned during Randolph Carter's journey to the north is likely the same entity.

-Haunter of the Dark lives in the highest tower of an abandoned church
-Haunter of the Dark requires absolute darkness to survive
-Haunter of the Dark is capable of showing terrifying visions to those who summon it

-Father of all Shantaks lives under the highest dome of a palace
-Father of all Shantaks is said to always be kept in total darkness even when being fed
-Father of all Shantaks grants horrible dreams to those who are too curious about it

-Both creatures are associated with Nyarlathotep, both are huge and winged

Conlcusion: Same creature or inspiration from his own previous work.
