Well as it turns out, my new fish is an idiot as far as fish go. He got his fin stuck in his little plastic tree and had like 50 seizures so I had to rescue him. True story. Also only one of his gills work. What a freak.Related content

Yeah, bettas can be crazy like that. I've never had one that got stuck in the tree and spazzed, though.

I had a fish I won from the fair with only one gill flap..you could actually see the red gills, and it looked like it had either been ripped off or folded under while at the fair. He (Glimmer) lived over a year until I bought a walmart fish to be his buddy and they both died the next day.

Hah, yeah. Damn Wal-Mart and their diseases. Last time I went they had a fish carrying around a chunk of the same species... weirded me out. I'm not even gonna say anything about the tumors.

Seriously!!! Your walmart too? Whenever I go to the walmart fish wall (there's around....oh twenty tanks, each about 10 gallons on one end of it) there's at least 5 dead fish floating in EACH tank, algae growing on the tanks (which wouldn't be so bad if they ATTEMPTED to clean it...it robs the fish of dissolved oxygen because well...it DOES absorb O2), huge parasitic wounds inflicted on most of the goldfish (we're talking HUGE gaping festering holes in these poor things) and, even if they're not riddled with disease, their colors are poor, the goldfish are so inbred they can hardly swim straight, and 95% of them are sluggish and/or covered with Ich spots. I've kept aquariums for about 5 years and I pretty much know the symptoms of fish diseases before they even appear.
I won't even feed my frog the fish from there....I'm afraid a horrible flesh-eating virus will kill poor Bufo. I already lost one life too many to those damn walmart fish...I'm not losing my precious frog.

Something similar happened to one of my fish... got somehow tangled in one of the plastic plants and by the time we had realized he was dead -_- though he was already quite buggered up, his tail was at a very odd angle, i think he broke it at one point of something...
