Sorry the photos aren't all that great, but I wanted to share my first felted creation!I found felting to be really fun and easy for me, I have lots of patients to just sit there for 10 hours stabbing him a million times with a needle until he becomes the right shape. LOL. It's a very intuitive art, it's closest to clay sculpting, but without the mess.
He's entirely solid felt, with 7mm glass teddy eyes, and clear jewellery elastic for his whiskers.
If you'd like to know more about needle-felting I suggest you search for tutorial videos on youtube.
This is a life-sized statue of my late rat, Stumpy, may he RIP. Unfortunately he passed away over new years, I was devastated. :'C

That's cute and amazing. I wish my parents would let me own a rat. I myself am getting into needle felting but I plan to needlefelt my dog's long soft undercoat she's in the process of shedding.

I will consider taking commissions, but something of this size and detail will cost over $100.00AUD. I'm going to try and make a miniature "baby" sized rat and see how long it takes and offer commissions of those for probably around $40-$50.

His mum ate it off at birth by accident. I found him in a pet shop "ON SALE: Special Needs" The petshop workers carried him around in their shirt pockets or sholders all day at work so that's why he was so crazy tame, and when I met him I fell in love.

Maybe, but one of this size and detail would be well over $100, as the time put into it is extensive and I used $25.00 worth of materials.
