Commissioned portrait I did last week. It was very fun and challenging to mold him from a cartoony/stylized character into a realistic picture.
The lighting was a bit tricky to figure out - my client suggested that he'd be inside the cabin of a sci-fi ship, with bluish/cold lights and sci-fi panels. So the key light, for contrast's sake, is a bit on the warm side, coming through a window and hitting his left side, while the cool blue secondary light hits his right side.
The final picture is far from photo-realistic, but it still works in reality.
