He's a Coyote from the slums, and is part of the constant turf wars between his race and the Chipmunks. Ironically, the Chipmunks are winning. There was a drawing of a 'munk real far back, but I'm too lazy to dig it up for a link.

While casualties certainly arise, most of the injuries are chalked up to cruelty. Kim was captured by the rival race one day, and came home with quite a few injuries "to show them who's boss." The word "Coyote" was branded onto his wrist, and a metal plate secured to his beaten chest. The mutilated skin quickly adopted the steel as a membrane, and removal of the object would result in extreme risk, as it has "grown into" his body. The steel stretches his skin, and he often has to have it re-stitched.

Also I fail at using OpenCanvas. I didn't even bother to shade it.
