Description

... Aaaand here come the butthurts!

Welcome. Hello. Hi.
If you're possibly planning on being a butthurt without any knowledge as to what I'm referring to or without even bothering to see my point of view, it's probably for the best to turn around and move on with your lovely life. If you decide to still waste your time here I am not responsible for doing so at it was your choice to stay here. Closed minded people are probably the kind I dislike the most and you might as well know that before even starting a conversation with me. c:

No, I shall not disable the comments.

Anyway, on to the topic:
I have seen this sentence appear in many arguments/internet fights: "You say you don't care? That just makes it obvious that you do care." and this is usually being said by people who randomly butt into arguments they weren't even part of, or by the one who's being "attacked". Now the words "I don't care." usually has to be said only once to make someone understand that you don't care about [insert topic here], am I right? Well, apparently, even after saying those words just once the other party decides it's a good idea to claim that you do care. (Damn, I'm already using a lot of italics.)
Now I have personally never understood this, what makes one claim that the other party does care when it has been said otherwise just once? Did you run out of things to say and try to make yourself look smart?
I'm pretty sure last time I checked "I don't care." means "I don't care." when it's said in a serious manner or... sarcastic, if you're really annoyed by the other party just rambling on by whatever they're trying to prove.

TL;DR:
The description is getting very long, I'd love to talk about this more in the comments as long as you're being mature about it. If not then there's no way in hell that I'm going to bother to take you serious. xD
Also, should I mention that I've never said that one does care when they said otherwise? I've never seen the point in doing so, and I never really had a reason to. If one says they don't care, I either stop talking about that topic or if they say that just to try and claim that their way is the right way I simply continue, ignoring the "I don't care" comments. xD Yes, I can be butthurt to, but when I do, I do it on purpose. (This is when I don't take the other party not serious at all.)

Here's a list of people who use the whole "if you reply you automatically care" crap:

lol TL;DR is TL;DR itself ahahahaha
meh.. i don't care. (lol)

on a serious note, this stamp inspires me to make an entirely different stamp.. it came to me before i saw 'is a weak excuse' part. it took me time to realise what is that for, and not untill i read your artist comment, did i figure out that there is even such a thing as people concluding from your 'i don't care' that you do care. a nice weapon to add in an arsenal of a troll, but try to lead a very serious looking discussion to make it look authentic hahahaha

sorry, i'm in a fun mood nowadays C :

Now, if the person claims to not care about you yet posts 100 billion journals on you (this has happened to me before), they may care about you a little. However if they post one comment and leave, they don't care. There was this one person who left so many hate comments towards me, a bunch of hate journals, and talked trash about me behind my back, and claimed not to care about me. UM, CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF COMMENTS AND JOURNALS THERE ARE, YOU MIGHT CARE A LITTLE.

There's also a case of: saying you don't care and that other person claims that you do care even though you stated otherwise, trying to look like the better person with comments such as "lolz0r, you replied so you do care. you dumb" now if that other person says something among the lines of that, they're clearly ticked off that you don't want to listen to em'. xD

If someone posts multiple journals about you and whatnot (or straight up stalks you on dA or whatever), yeah they do care.

As a responsible adult who has a college degree and is working part-time at a pizza joint for a living, I'm going to say that most of these people who use the "you replied therefore you care" argument are usually:

A. Under 20
B. People who never leave the house
C. People who never read a book
D. People who never went to college and/or got a degree
E. People who got their asses whooped at a bar for hassling the bartender for free drinks/food while making everyone else have to pay (I don't work at a bar per se so there's no bar fights, we just have customers who will occasionally flip their shit over the tiniest of mistakes to the point where we have to ask the manager for help how to solve the problem).

Like if you're still doing that whole "you replied therefore you automatically care" thing in this day and age especially when you're an adult then it's really sad because that just means your whole world is going to be turned upside down the moment your professor, supervisor or whatever real life authority figure lectures you about the way you've been viewing the world.

If they ACTUALLY don't care, what they should do is ignoring the comment (or fixing their mistakes if they're called out on their bullshit) and move on instead of replying "I don't care". This would avoid dealing with more drama.

Do you even know which party is causing more drama?

The party who gets offended after someone saying "I don't care" and then using this excuse to sound smart.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. :V

The people who don't ignore comments pressing the X button (or take people's advice) and move on, instead of wasting their time replying with I"I DUN CARE!!1!1!" posts AND making themselves look like hypocrites are the ones which cause more drama.

If they actually don't care, they shouldn't reply people's comments in first place. Simple as that.

Honey, you've got a big storm coming.

You can't do that "you responded therefore you care" crap in real life. It just doesn't work that way.

Of course it doesn't work IRL. I was talking about internet comments, though.

Doesn't matter. You pull that "you cared because you replied" crap at ALL, you automatically lose. No ifs, ands or buts.

Now, if you're like me, I don't like ending conversations/arguments with a decent ending. Now this doesn't have to include a "goodbye" or whatever, but I'm pretty sure one can determine whether someone is ending a conversation. (Not always, but you get my point.) To me, saying "I don't care." is not a way to end a conversation/argument. (It really depends on the situation actually.) Whenever I say that I don't care the other party is usually (like I stated before) rambling on about things that I really have no interest in, which usually is things unrelated to the topic of the conversation/argument. Usually, if the other party is "weaker" in arguments (as in: they're not good at argumenting) they either claim that you do care or just continue talking about [uninteresting/unrelated topic], probably only to make themselves feel better. (?) I don't even know anymore.
And then there's that one person, reading the conversation/argument (if it is indeed publicly posted) who decides it's a good idea to randomly jump in for...what reason? Yes, you may of course lay down your opinions on the table, I ain't stopping you, opinions are opinions. And then suddenly: "You don't care? Omfglol, you do care." ... Lolwhut? (<-- I'm never saying that again.) Where is that coming from? So you make your argument against that person about them being a butthurt or whatever you have in mind and then they just repeat the same, but without them making them look like they know what they're talking about.
Usually they do not know what you're referring to and they themselves don't care either. Welp, if you didn't care in the first place, why bother butting in? (Here come more butthurts to be butthurts towards me. Oh joy! Welcome!)

Anyway, I have a really good example here . Notice how this person has blocked me after making a "witty" comeback. Immaturity to the max.

Do you have anything you would like to say to the person who blocked you?

KiraiMirai In reply to Akhenamen [2015-04-22 14:46:45 +0000 UTC]

Well, only the fact that they're the one being immature as they called me names before blocking me. Rather cowardly, actually.
