I just watched the pilot and loved it. The retro-futuristic atmosphere reminds me a lot of the Batman Animated series, which was made using Dark Deco. I liked the artstyle very much as well as the music and sound effects used.
I think the only reason Nickelodeon could come up with would be a short budget ( although they DO manage to finance crappy shows ). Other reason would be that cartoons these days tend to be rather blunt and stupid.
News for Nickelodeon: stupid and rebellious not always equals quality.
This particular cartoon is one i would seriously watch and enjoy. It's got many elements of the Cartoon golden age. This is the 5th time i see the pilot in a row.
I'm 17, in college and i'm still loving it. I really hope the producers come to their senses, not every cartoon show should follow the same procedure.
My heart is with the author. I wish him succeed.

Well, they still COULD at some point greenlight this, as it's not the first time networks initially say no to something, only to revisit it and say yes a few years later.
Powerpuff Girls, The Venture Bros., The Fairly Oddparents, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and Phineas & Ferb for example among many others.
Regardless, excellent work on this and thanks for the link to that pilot.

Nothing has ever stuck with me as much as The Modifyers did. Like it seriously pains me that it didn't get picked up. If I had massive amounts of money, I would fund the show myself. But anyway, awesome drawing of her, and nice to see some fanart of this

Well, Adventure Time was originally piloted on Nick, then Cartoon network wanted it when the rights were given up. Since the rights are given up, maybe CN will take a gander at it.
