Voice Actor Chronicles - Episode 02 - Christopher R. Sabat
Next up, the "voice" of English Dragonball Z, as one might say, Chris Sabat! His characters on this one include: Vegeta (bottom left), Mr. Popo (bottom middle) and Piccolo (middle right) from Dragonball Z, Ayame from Fruits Basket (bottom right), Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist (top left), Saiga from Speedgrapher and Roy from the upcoming SoltyRei. Chris Sabat was one of the first voice actors I ever learned about, back in middle school (along with others such as Justin Cook, Sean Schemmel, most of the DBZ and YYH cast, essentially), and finally I'll get the chance to meet him at NYComicCon this upcoming weekend. Chris is also the Main Director for Dragonball Z (and the video games), which is why he plays so many characters from the series. Past Vegeta, Piccolo and Mr. Popo, he's also Yamcha, Korin (Karin), Kami, Shenron, Leuitenant Black, Colonel Silver, Omega Shenron (Yi Xin Long), Demon King Piccolo, Recoome, Jeice, Grandpa Gohan, and several SEVERAL others I haven't listed. My friend Niro suggested I just put the DBZ logo in there as a joke, to represent all of the characters. One that I feel incredibly stupid for forgetting though, was Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho. He was one of my favorite characters of Sabat's and he completely slipped my mind...even worse, since SoltyRei isn't even OUT yet, and I'v still yet to see Fruits Basket. Blah, I suck. Eh, nonetheless, I think this one's color scheme came out rather nicely. I went with the blue based on Chris' outfit, which is the suit he wears on his Okratron 5000 studio website, where he records for all of the DBZ video games. I'll most likely be doing some more of these before ComicCon, so I can give out more of them to other voice actors, so we'll see how that goes ;D
