With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate coming to destroy us all with its hype-worthyness this December, I decided why the hell and do something like this. Now I know that Smash Ultimate likely won't have as many newcomers as we all have hoped, so here's a hypothetical list of characters I want to see duke it out in Smash at least once.

1. Ghirahim [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011, Nintendo 3DS)
It's been a really long time since the last new Zelda rep was introduced to the series. (Toon Link in Brawl) For a mainstream franchise that's been around as long as Mario, it's honestly surprising that the series has been lacking new representatives. So, I decided that the most obvious new Zelda rep should be none other than a new Zelda villain, namely Ghirahim, the bishounen demon lord. That's right, I'm giving him the Little Mac treatment (promoting from Assist Trophy to playable). For his moveset, I believe he would prefer being a fast attacker, hacking with his sword and blades.

2. Lana
First Appearance: Hyrule Warriors (2014, Nintendo WiiU)
If Ghirahim is deconfirmed, then Lana will be the alternative for me in terms of new Zelda reps. Though she seems like not the most obvious pick for a new Zelda rep, she's surprisingly a pretty solid choice. Lana has the ability to conjure up barriers of lightning, a spear to use as a melee weapon, and even summon creatures to fight for her. If that doesn't scream worthy for Smash, I don't know what is.

3. Chibi-Robo [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Chibi-Robo! (2005, Nintendo Gamecube)
Okay, you can blame Smash Flash 2 for me putting this particular character here. You know that one sticker you unlocked in Brawl for clearing Classic on Easy? Yep, it's this guy. It's a pretty unorthodox choice for a Smash character, but like the ones that also seemed unlikely (a.k.a. the Villager and Pac-Man), I also believe Nintendo can work their way with the Chibi-Robo, giving him access to various household items for his moveset and even that Telly thing for his recovery move.

4. Shadow the Hedgehog [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2 (2001, Sega Dreamcast)

Mr. Ow The Edge himself. This one should be a no-brainer. A second rep for Sonic. I know, seems unlikely, but Shadow fits in that category. Even moreso as a semi-clone or Echo Fighter of Sonic. It honestly makes sense to me. Besides, Dark Pit needs an edge buddy.

5. Ayumi Tachibana [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir (1988, Famicom Disk System)
You know, the Smash Bros. had a sort of tradition involving unexpected characters. Smash 64 had Captain Falcon and Ness, Melee had the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch, Brawl had R.O.B., and SSB4 had the Wii Fit Trainer and the Duck Hunt Dog. So far, Ultimate seems to lack any truly unexpected picks (I mean, come on, who didn't vote for the Inklings, Daisy, or Ridley in the ballot back when SSB4 had that ballot thing going on?) so here's my pick for the surprise fighter. Yeah, yeah, go ahead, make fun of me for believing a character like this has a chance of making it in Smash Bros., but remember this, who honestly expected the FUCKING DOG from Duck Hunt to be in the big leagues with Mario and Link? Fun Fact: Sakurai actually planned on including Ayumi Tachibana in Smash Bros. Melee, but ultimately relented due to her relative obscurity outside of Japan. It's a shame too, cause I would've loved to kick the king of evil's ass as a regular schoolgirl.

6. Adeleine
First Appearance: Kirby's Dream Land 3 (1997, Super NES)
If I ever wanted a fourth Kirby rep, Adeleine would be my obvious pick, even though I did vote for Bandana Dee in the Smash Ballot. With the Wave 2 DLC of Kirby Star Allies just ready to be revealed to the public, I decided to place the much-anticipated Adeleine here. Obviously, she would use her paintbrush to attack. I would absolutely LMAO if Adeleine winds up having her freakout attack as her dash attack. As her specials, I think she would conjure up paintings to support her in battle.

7. Marx [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Kirby Super Star (1996, Super NES)
In case Adeleine winds up being confined to Assist Trophy position, Marx would be my alternative fourth Kirby rep. I mean, why not kill two birds with one stone and have more villains and more Kirby reps? Marx would definitely use the moves he used in his fight against Kirby, though I think he would be a bit OP in Smash though, kinda like the new Meta Knight/Bayonetta.

8. Celica [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Fire Emblem Gaiden (1992, Nintendo Famicom)

(deep breath) Alright, thank you. Although some of you are mighty annoyed by the amount of attention Fire Emblem's received as of lately by Nintendo, I actually don't mind the excess amount of representation. Celica seems like a decent character for Smash, what with her capability of using magic as well as her swordplay, though I think she would reserve her magic for her specials.

9. Ninten [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Mother/Earthbound Beginnings (1989, Nintendo Famicom)
Here's another Echo Fighter I'd love to see in Smash, this one being of Ness. Besides, we'd finally have all the main characters in the Mother series in the same game at last.

10. Shantae [DECONFIRMED]
First Appearance: Shantae (2002, Game Boy Color)
Indie games were a pretty hot topic when Smash 4 came about, with some people thinking it's time to welcome them in, but others think they should stay put. I don't know about you, but I'm personally going with the former party and believe that the spot should rightfully go to Shantae. I mean, if Bayonetta managed to make it in, then Shantae would be a-okay for Smash. I mean, her original game is even on a Nintendo platform, and that's not even mentioning the early concepts of Shantae having her official debut on the Super NES! From humble beginnings on the dying Game Boy Color to achieving cult-classic status across video game communities everywhere, I believe it's high time for Shantae to finally get what she deserves.
