Description
"Not to be confused with a real baby" is based on how Togepi is treated on the show- it doesn't battle (except for isolated situations such as blowing up Butch and Cassidy's building, the Pink Island pokemon episode and whatever else I've missed) and Misty treated it more like a baby than a Pokemon. It didn't really mature until it evolved and left on its own terms. I love Togepi and I think that if it was more developed earlier in the show, who knows who Togepi might have been?November 7th, 2010: Congratulations everyone, it's over 9000!

Well, maybe that's a good thing. Togepi and its evolutions revolve around love and happiness and all that crud. When real babies grow up, they're more likely to spread hate than joy.

hey no problem, it kinda just came to me while I was typing. This is one thing I don't like about the internet, you can't tell if someone's offended, or just commenting, you can't hear how they say it.

And you're not sitting next to them, so it's hard to tell whether a statement is agreement/disagreement or sarcasm. I swear, I saw two people on YouTube misunderstand a comment that sounded sarcastic.

I know right. But it has some advantages, I get so many laughs when I accuse my guy friends of calling me fat over the web, because they think I'm serious. It makes some things more interesting....

There's also the fact that Togepi hardly ever showed up in the movies. Whenever Togepi DID show, he/she/it (did they ever specify what gender it was?) would appear at the beginning with the gang, hide in Misty's bag while the events of the movie took place, and pop back out once the plot was resolved.
Togepi never really got much of a role in the series (at least from the episodes I've seen), did he/she/it?

They've never specified Togi's gender, I wish they did though.

Well part of that it does do. Pair it with a Ditto and then out comes a baby. Beyond that, the most it can do is use metronome and then uses Self-Destruct.

Ha this is funny because, well, I always thought the same thing. o_o If she had actually let it battle it could have probably won all the time with its scarily strong psychic powers. XD It's so cute though. @_@

I always thought that Togepi blowing up Butch and Cassidy's building was one of the top 5 most epic Pokemon moments of all time because Togepi's appearance is so deceiving. It looks like a little baby yet it can blow up a building that is nearly the size of (or is the size of) the Eiffel Tower!
