I have never been to Tuscany. This is Greece and in particular Peloponnese. It was a lucky find this place. We were killing time with Maria waiting for the sunset so we were exploring the dirt roads around the artificial lake of Pinios river. We couldn't help but notice the resemblance of that small tuft of cypress trees to the ones we see in the landmark photographs of Tuscany so we took a shot
It isn't infrared, I just used a green filter to make the green grass turn white.I used a two stop GND for this shot to balance the exposure

The processing and composition of this are just brilliant mate. Stunning.
In terms of it looking like Tuscany....the cypress tress and rolling hills are similar, but the landscape is rarely this "busy" in Tuscany, and you don't see olive tree plantations so far north. This place actually reminds me quite a bit of Andalucia.
It's nice that it hasn't got pylons and telephone poles all across the landscape like most of southern Portugal.

Even though I processed this shot from the beginning as b/w the contrast was a bit too much and it never really made a click with me even though I liked the composition. Until yesterday where I posted it at a forum and a guy who definitely knows what he is talking about did a quick work on it and e-mailed me his version. I used his as a reference and with a few alterations I came to a result I liked a lot. Made me realized that I have quite a way to go with photography still and that I really need to invest some time to learn some good postwrok techniques.
Anyway glad you like it mate. It is funny how non colour landscape shots go vastly un-noticed around here.
