Description "Ono irete
Ka ni odorokuya
Fuyukodachi"
Haiku by Yosa Buson

I plunged the axe into an apparently dead tree; how surprising it is to smell the fragrance of a winter tree, the fragrance of life!
(I hope it's clear...)

I think its about a wood cutter in winter looking for dead tree as firewood. As he stumbled across the dead looking tree, he plunged his axe into the tree and found it still alive, with "fragrance of life".
