Description Eddie is 1/2 my cat (don't ask me which half).
Sometimes he flirts with my roommate, then he's only 1/3 my cat.
He's a sweet sweet little boy. I love him fiercely.

I have an orange cat that looks very similar to him.  He adopted me.  Showed up at the house one day and wouldn't leave.  I had a black cat as well, but he died a few years back.  Kieser and Pumpkin.  I'll let you sort out their names.

Beautiful shot.  All the pictures in your gallery are yours?  You have a wonderful command of lighting.  Your writing is very well done too!  I could just go through your gallery commenting on everything!

Oh my, what a beautiful, sweet cat ^^
May I ask, what has happened to his right eye? Or am I seeing a problem where there is none, in case his eye's just closed.

Thanks so much.

Yes, when he was a kitten he injured it badly.  He lost all the vision in that eye.  When we got him he was
several months older, his eye was swollen and a constant bother for him, leaking and such.  I took him to
a specialist, an ophthalmologist for small animals, he recommended having it removed to keep it from becoming
infected often or being the source of a possible cancer.
It broke my heart to do it but I had him operated on and they removed his eye.  Now he's a much happier boy.

I see. What a shame. I'm happy you did the right thing, though difficult at the time, you can see the good result of it now
It's never easy make such decisions. We had a cat, who suffered from kidney stones and was very sick. We had him operated to remove the kidney stones and he got better, however, they kept returning and in the end it was more humane to have him euthanized, otherwise he would be living in constant pain and would end up dying very painfully. I remember it clearly, stroking his head, speaking comforting words to him (though it was probably more for myself) and looking into his eyes as he fell asleep and never woke up again. It was the right thing to do, but it was very difficult for me to say goodbye to him. He used to push open the door to my room in the morning, he would jump up on the bed and wake me up, I'd turn and lie on my back, so he could place himself comfortably on my chest and fall asleep there, hehe. A wonderful cat and companion.

I'm happy your cat is doing well now <3

I'm sorry about your cat.  That's a terrible choice and then a worse thing to have to do.

Thank you, he's a happy little guy now.

I miss having a cat.
I particularly love orange or black cats.

I did too during school. I've had one of each.  This is Ed, he's 4 years old now.
The black one died from feline leukemia when he was 2 yrs old.  He was gorgeous.

You should let a stray or orphaned kitten pick you out to keep you and cuddle and purr on you.

I've done that twice. The first was a black cat I got from the humane society...he ADORED me and for years wouldn't let anyone else touch him. But unfortunately I moved out from my mom's and couldn't take him with me to my new apartment and he ended up at my aunt's, where he had to stay. But he was in the country and he had always been an outdoor cat so I figured it was best for him.

The other was a stray I found close to here that I couldn't keep because my husband is allergic. She was maybe 5 weeks old and headed toward pneumonia. I found her two hours before a horrendous rain storm, sitting beside the sidewalk and some shrubs. I kept her for a week and took care of her and brought her to the vet, then found a no-kill shelter for her and she was adopted. It was really hard to give her up though. She became such a sweet little lap cat in the time I had her. She was a very pretty gray thing. I called her Olive.

Ohh.. that's sad on both counts.  You did what you "had" to with the black one, but still
nobody likes splitting up with their buddies.

That awesome you took in a rescue and a stray - yaayyyy!!  I love people that help animals.

I knew a fluffy black cat named Olive.  She sounds like she was very happy with you.
I can't see how a cat in the house could hurt things for you.. hint.. hint.  lol
