I finally got some time to color this picture. And I'm rather happy, except... the colors are messed up after scanning...Now about the character. This is my OC Orokai - the Snake Princess. She is the wife of Ran (fav.me/dao88e1 ) and mother of Solas (fav.me/daw6cy6 ). Orokai is also Ran's familiar. A bit of explanation is needed here. In the world Ran and Orokai live magic is something very real. Witches and Warlocks (unlike Sorcerers) need a familiar in order to share the burden of their immense powers. Their familiars are usually magical beings with special abilities, including shape-shifting. Regular familiars can only change size (from small and compact regular form to huge battle form), the strongest among them however also have a human appearance. Orokai was separated from her husband and child after the attack of Aghul and Ran's sister Adamanti. Ran escaped with Solas' body and Orokai kept the baby's soul in hope that her child won't be taken by the evil forces.
Inktense pencils, white, copper and silver markers and fine-liners.

This is so beautiful! And it really struck a chord with me because I ADORE snakes so much!
I have a witch character who has a snake as a familiar. I still need to draw them together and this reminded me to do so.

Thanks! I just wanted to draw her like an Indian princess, and Indian clothing has many many cool patterns, so... voila

I see, jeah sometimes it's intresting to see a char suffer until they reach a happy ending.
Aah yes I fave that one a while ago^^ also a amazing drawing..yet I din't commend on it I see ^^'
But I indeed like his background to. He sure has endure a lot especially with using his powers and the spreading curse as a flair. (like it is backfiring to him)
I must be honest that I have a weakness to chars who have a strong power...yet it is a weakness in the end.
