Yeah, I know, October's over, but like I said last time, I've been having a lot of fun with Mab's prompt list for this year, so I think I'm gonna continue doing it for a bit longer. ^_^

Anyways, for this prompt, I decided to do a yokai I'm not terribly familiar with, the Nekomata. From what I found out from the quick research I did, nekomata come in two types. The one I focused on was the 'old cat who develops two tails, becomes a yokai, and enjoys screwing with people." There's all kinds of stuff involved, like shapeshifting and fires and poltergeist-type trickery. Unlike the other, lighter, cheerier two-tailed cat yokai, the bakeneko, the nekomata is apparently associated with necromancy, so I put this one in front of an old forgotten grave with some spirit lights hanging out with it.

This took awhile, but I'm pretty happen with the result. Done mostly in Clip Studio Paint and finished up in Photoshop.
