She brightened at the change of subject. “Yes, why do you ask?”

Shrugging, he replied, “I, just, finally have a use for the greenhouse is all, come see.” He led her into, what used to be empty and barren, green house, only to find it filled with all kinds of plants. There was everything from vegetables to fruits and multiple variations of vibrant flowers and trees. Sophie's mouth was like that of a fish as she tried to find words. “H-how? Where did all this come from?”

“Well, before you accuse me of using my ‘dark creepy voodoo magic’ to make this come out of thin air, that’s only half true. After bringing Ruby here I did a little buying, myself, at the market, and used my transportation spell to bring it all here. I noticed you loved looking at all the plants and figured you’d enjoy your own garden.”

She instantly realized then, ‘That’s why he didn’t instantly show up in the alley, until he heard my cry for help.”

When he saw her tearing up, he feared he might have made a mistake but, was startled when Sophie leaped up and hugged him around his neck, dangling due to his height. Damion wrapped his arms around her to prevent her from falling, he could feel her trembling.

“Do you not like it?” He was sure she would but, now he didn’t know. ‘Why are humans so confusing?’

She quickly reassured him, “No, no, I love it! It’s just that no one has ever done something like this for me. Thank you, Damion, for everything… Thank you.” She gave him a quick peck on the cheek, missing the wide eyed look on his face before she ran off to get Ruby settled into her new home.
