Description Homemade Chicken Burger.

I finally got around to taking a picture of my chicken burger with the chicken patties that I BBQ'd earlier this week.
Annddd, also finally got around to posting it online as promised especially to Loffy0 .

In the burger there is (along with the chicken patty, of course ) garlic aïoli, avocado spread, red onions and some lettuce.

Which gives me an idea; bacon roll with guacamole and maybe chopped onion as being easier to bite in a roll than onion rings.

That sounds quite good.

Well, I tried this, but the only way I could get guacamole was in a 3 pack of dips for tortilla chips. (I don't have a recipe, and you can't make home-made guacamole without avocados which were also not available locally.) This also meant I got soured cream, and when live gives you soured cream, make a Strogonov!

It's "ok", but my preferred dry-cure unsmoked Ayrshire or Suffolk bacon (Canadian should work, but I can't get that any more than I suspect you can get Ayrshire?) overwhelmed the store guacamole. Another time I'll stick to "Alabama Slammers" (cream cheese, chopped onion and bacon).

Awww thanks for mentioning me That looks amazing btw I may have to try it some day The chicken patty is not breaded is it? What did you season it with? Idk if I ask that last time.

Kitteh-Pawz In reply to Loffy0 [2017-08-18 01:42:19 +0000 UTC]

No, it is not breaded.
It is ground chicken thigh seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, sweet paprika paste, black pepper and salt.

Ah ok, didn't think so but wanted to be sure
Oh, is the sweet paprika paste a common thing one can find? I am sure if I look I could find it. That sounds awesome! Thanks!

No, unfortunately is not.
Unless you live close to a local Eastern European store, like I do.
But I did manage to find it online: m.ebay.com/itm/Red-Gold-Univer…

Ah ok. That is the brand you use? I will keep an eye out thanks! Right around my house I have a ton of arabic stores, mostly Lebanese but in the right areas you can find eastern europeans stores too. I am sure I could find it! I like the sound of it!

Ah ok cool!
Oh, I am from Detroit, Michigan  live in Dearborn now, which is like attached to Detroit. There is a huge middle eastern population here which is amazing! The area would prolly be dead if it was not for them! Great food too
How about you? Where you at?

Kitteh-Pawz In reply to Loffy0 [2017-08-24 01:52:38 +0000 UTC]

Ah, yes, I have heard that is a big Middle Eastern community/population there.
I live in Montreal, Quebec. The area I live in it is called Plateau-Mont-Royal.
It is a hipster/artsy-like area. There is a lot different cultures in the area. And of course, lots of restaurants and different types of foods as well.

Loffy0 In reply to Kitteh-Pawz [2017-08-24 04:58:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes Its amazing! People from out of town get weird around here seeing all the arabic on the buildings Its really nice though!
Oh ok, yeah it says that on your profile doesn't it At least Montreal, Quebec I seem to remember now. Not the actual borough though. That sounds like a nice place There are not too many artsy places I know of off hand around here honestly I did security at a performance art street fair! Lol. That is about it though, which sucks cuz I do not have any art friends in reality
I bet! I looked it up briefly and it seems pretty densely populated! Lots of restaurants is also good We don't have too many different kinds in my general area, mostly Lebanese, then Iraqi, some american joins, Mexican, Italian, and thats it lol. The easter european stuff is both in the inner city and in the suburbs.

Where I live, Mile-End which is within the Plateau, there are many Orthodox Jews.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mile_End…
It surprises some people to see them walk around in their all black outfits and the women dressed in long dresses and skirts.
There are also many Orthodox Jewish stores around along with several synagogues.

Oh nice
I can imagine! People get weird when they are outside their comfort zones. In its own right it must be kinda cool too!
OH nice! Bet that gives you a steady flow of good ethnic foods
Good There are more than a few mosques in our are due to the Muslim population

Ah, that's one of those BBQs what made my stomach go insane about a week ago. Scratch the patty and we good to go. Hm, I wonder how it goes if I boil the chicken instead of frying it, cuz heck, I'd like to have some burgers now.

It didn't tempt me that much. But that was nice experiment making burgers with boiled chicken breast patty for a dinner yesterday. Tho it's still was fast food and an hour later I felt hungry again.

Did you eat anything else with it? Maybe if you ate some veggies it'd help keep you full for longer.

Well, there was some onions, tomato, lettuce and pickles, yes there was vedgies, Though it's obvious that the body of 170 pounds (80kg) guy requires lots of calories to function. And diets... Well, I'm hungry most of times.

Diets don't usually work for most people. I like to think moderation is key.

Hm, I guess your right, but in my diet's the keyword is diabetes, so I can try something else, but mostly I end up feeling sick afterwards, my diet is not about loosing weight, It's about not puking my guts out by eating something what's not on my allowed food list
