Description When searching for one of my cats outside in our backyard, I came across this ladybug.
I decided to pick it up and bring it with me to our balcony. It did not protest or attempt to fly away.
For an hour, it was crawling up and down my arms and along my hands.
I decided to name it Dotty after an hour I set Dotty down onto a leaf of our Angel Trumpet plant.
For quite some time it did not leave from there either.
The ladybug, Dotty, seemed to be quite fond of me.

I would be surprised if the title said
"Ladybug on Lava" instead of "Ladybug on a Leaf"

Sometimes, one just needs to point out the obvious - you know?

Nice photo.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but this looks suspiciously like the notorious Harlequin lady beetle (an extremely invasive species from Asia).  It may be worth checking if it is recommended in your area to report it to the authorities.  We do that in the UK where it has become a serious problem.  bit.ly/1zqcaT6

Thank you!

Ah, yes it does look like that. Not that long ago, less than a month ago (even though I took this picture last year) there was an infestation of them throughout the city.

You're welcome.  Oh I'm sorry to hear that.  I believe it was originally introduced deliberately into North America by farmers who did not trust Nature to control aphids.  Greed messing with nature has caused many such tragedies.  The mad, greed-motivated desire to encourage overpopulation of the planet through insane food production levels is to blame again.
