Description This is a bit old. I just finally got around to scanning it. I named it "Resilience" since the background was drawn from a photo I took of a downed tree in the woods a while after they chopped most of the woods down. Seems appropriate.
It was for a project in my life drawing class. For our final project we had to use one of the sketches we did during the semester and use it to create a finished artwork (he pretty much gave us free reign so I went all out with a fairy of course lol). There are loads of very obvious flaws with this picture and the figure. I was working from a quick gesture sketch I had of the model and I didn't have the model there to look at... all I had was the sketch. There is no way on earth I will ever change or update this. For one thing it's been sprayed thoroughly with fixatif (so erasing is pretty much impossible) and also.... I never go back and change artwork much at all with exception of maybe adding backgrounds to images that had none or fixing very big terrible flaws. So feel free to critque it however you want... but just know I won't be putting your suggestions to use on this.

This is a stunning image. I love your technique, and the overall picture does not strike me as being overly cliche (and its really hard to not be overly cliche when drawing fairies these days).

Well done.
