I came across a meme a couple days ago, and thought it would be fun to try out. Though the problem was I couldn't find a blank version to use, so I had to do some extra work to get this meme to look right.

But this was somewhat difficult to do, since I made a rule to include only one couple per fandom/franchise, and trying to get the ideal pairings for each category. And no crossover pairings shall be included.

The because it's cute/hot/canon reasons bother me a lot though, since I hate to seeing characters shipped for that reason alone. I ship characters based on how they (could) work off each other, not by appearance or because it's canon so we should like it regardless no matter how awful a canon pairing could be...Not every canon couple is gonna be good/entertaining. Also, the because I can reason was difficult because I feel I don't ship too many odd pairings that aren't crossovers. They usually have some sort of ground for them, and it was moreso personality-based as to why I like them, not because 'I can'.

Because it's Adorable - Stan and Wendy from South Park. What puts them here is because of the sort of...innocence they have (though South Park in general is the last thing you'd call innocent). I think it's because they're kids or something, they've sung a song for a soundtrack together (D'AWWW!~), they hold hands, and have a couple cutesy romantic things on occasion. I don't how to describe it, it's so innocent yet a bit raunchy at the same time given the content.

Because it's Hot - Courtney and Gwen from the Total Drama series. Personally, I feel uncomfortable calling anything 'hot', it feels very shallow and degrading to me. But my choice here has something to do with the strange gravitation I've had for this ship lately. Something about their interaction and personalities just blend so well for me. The fanart is beautiful (especially 's art, her art of them is fantastic and lovely), their interaction is fun, it just gives me a feeling of fascination. I also enjoy their simple friendship for what it is too.

Because it's Plausible - Naruto and Sakura from Naruto. With a shonen series, romance isn't really much of a focus. I mean, sure Naruto likes Sakura, whereas she likes Sasuke while Hinata has feelings for Naruto, but something about NaruSaku could really work. I think they work off each other pretty well, their relationship has gradually changed as time went on, and have known each other for quite some time due to being on the same team. I just feel they have something special regarding how they see one another.

Because they're Alike - Ash and Dawn from Pokemon. These two are surprisingly similar in personality oddly enough. They both tend to be very confident, their first Pokemon won't evolve, are a little absent-minded, etc. Even if their interests are different, it's no denial they sought after their dreams in a very similar way. This is actually one of my fave Ash ships alongside PokeShipping, I'm flexible with either one.

Because they're Opposites - Luigi and Princess Daisy from the Super Mario franchise. They are different in just about every way, Luigi is nervous and cowardly, Daisy is wild and outgoing, you can have so much fun watching them interact.

Because it's Canon - Donald and Daisy Duck. While I like this couple for other reasons to be honest, I tend to gravitate to most canon Disney couples anyway. Something about Donald and Daisy I just love to watch, they're both similar and different at the same time, and they weren't portrayed as a perfect relationship either because of said personality clashes (notably, being very short-tempered).

Because of Subtext - Soul and Maka from Soul Eater. While this could fit more in the opposites section, Soul and Maka also were somewhat implied and hinted that they could like each other as more than friends. It's never been outright said, but it's very clear they care deeply about the other as partners.

Because of Fanwork - Lock and Shock from The Nightmare Before Christmas. My fondness for this pairing is purely based on coming across fanart and fanfiction when I got into the TNBC fandom, and the fact I am such of a fan of L,S,&B to begin with, I grew to like the idea very quickly. Canon-wise, they really only view one another as cohorts (didn't have much screentime to establish anything other than that, we don't know if they're either friends or siblings either). Considering how I portray them in my headcanon, their personalities both clash and work at the same time to lead to interesting interaction. Though considering that they're young kids, their relationship would be more slightly hinted in the classic love-hate style.

Because I can - Flash Sentry and Sunset Shimmer from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. What's ironic about this is that I am not really an avid shipper of this pairing yet, but I find them fascinating despite never really being shown interacting. They were apparently an item before the events of Equestria Girls but have broken some time after. I'm curious though, what was their relationship like?

...Also, I'm personally not a fan of Flashlight at all, they felt too forced for me to like them together. I just think FlashShimmer could lead to a more interesting setup.
