Mainly yes it is a fetish about someone eating or swallowing another person alive, but it doesn't always have to be a fetish and sometimes, believe it or not it can be a sign of comfort in the story or whatever it's in for both sides. A friendly giant could swallow a human to keep them safe and warm without harming them in some stories and art. But I must admit at least half of it is just as bad as it sounds, with death and.... *shudders* .

Correction... Vore is the fetish of eating or getting eaten by someone/something... It does not necessarily mean cannibalism, since it can contribute to being devoured by a different species..
