Out of the fetishes out there, vore is one that gets into the list of most weird fetishes, yeah, I know there are worse, but vore is still weird enough.I don't mind foot fetish, quite understandable, like, how soft, detailed and stuff a foot is...but a fetish of being/see/think or eat someone alive??? I'm trying to understand how this can turn people on, well, of course it does turn people on, but I just need to know why...
Anyway...Vore is pretty weird...
And...No...I don't hate anyone that likes vore...I just find vore something weird.

After reading some comments I have come across in attempts to understand this topic better, it seems for a lot of people, it falls under the same principle of why people like gory/horror movies, and like to be scared. For some reason, there is just something that keeps you coming back to it. Lik, I am not a fan of the horror genre in movies, but I love books like Unseeming, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Hellbound Heart because of the suspense, wanting to know what will happen to the characters.
I don't care for vore myself when it's the sole topic of something. I can handle a character in a cartoon being eaten by a cartoon monster and needing to be rescued, or breaking free of said monster, but vore art that especially features sexual themes or showing the person....inside and making people so distended they should die from crushed organs....I find that disgusting. A snake is one thing, it's made to eat things that are quite large. Most other creatures would kill themselves in the process of trying. (But okay....suspension of disbelief.)
But, while I find this particular train of thought revolting, I have to again admit that I enjoy macabre stories if the author knows how to spin the kind of tale that sucks you in and doesn't' let you go till the very end. And I'm reminded that authors like Clive Barker, Steven King and many other that are hailed in the literary world are also thought of as disgusting by many who don't understand the appeal of the side steps in reality they create. Even Steven King himself has admitted he doesn't know why his brain runs off into dark corners the way that it does. That and he knows it's all fantasy, but keeps his feet under the covers. XD
Also, having grown up in the late 80s, early 90s, living in a small town, I learned the hard way many times that liking something as simple as comics or video games (now a days at least) was enough to make you weird, unnatural, and hated by others.
I don't understand the appeal in vore, but I can at least tolerate it knowing that it's a cousin to many other things people do that are weird and they can't fully explain why.

Yeah, I was in a blind rage when I wrote these. I had just read a snake vore story, and the author has included the horrifying details of what it was like to be digested alive (with the innocent girl in the story screaming in agony unable to save herself). I was so shocked and livid at how people could be so sick in the head to find this type of sadism pleasurable. So in my mind, OF COURSE vote fans werebevil.

So, I'm not sure what story you're referring to, but here's the thing: the people reading and writing those stories are not evil. They simply enjoy a fantasy that would be horrible if it happened in real life. The vast majority of voraraphiles have an ordinary sense of ethics which would cause them to try to prevent such things from happening in reality, much like over 40% of heterosexual men have a rape perpetrator fantasy, but only more like 4% are ever going to actually commit rape, and the rest could be anything from rape apologists to radical feminists.

Well that's true, but I'll give a more detailed theory (I have a million and one different theories on why someone may like vore, and I'm sure people will have a fascination of it for different reasons, so I'll just give one I think is a more popular reason). Well here's what I think: being safe and comfortable and warm, completely surrounded by your partner can sound amazing, same thing for the pred but being the protector and comforter. Then there's how everyone deep down is egocentric and a sadist (just look at typical human behavior, it's quite obvious. We get into fights, we have wars, even as kids we couldn't help but laugh, maybe even just internally, at the kid who fell down). This would more so explain digestion and hard vore, it also explains observers who like digestion (heheh, me). Then for prey there's that heightened thrill seeking long (reasons why people go sky diving, with vore it just manifest in a slightly different way). For pred's it's a heightened hunters instinct, eat or be eaten, left over from our early years as a race when we had to always hunt for our meals.
These are just a few of my theories as to why people may like vore. Because ask any vorarephile, they won't say they like vore just because they like vore, if they gave you their honest feelings on why they like vore it's always something much more emotional and meaningful and doesn't correlate directly to vore (e.g. loyalty/trust, dom/sub sadism/masochism, ect).

From personal understanding and what I have heard, vore may origionate from cartoons that involve these topics. This may be false, but most people who like vore have recounted stories of watching cartoons and things like that at a young age that included vore scenes, and ending out how they are. It's possible this happens due to the brain developing, watching a cartoon they enjoy, and associating some of the things they see with the norm or just think those things may be perfectly acceptable, and thus their brain keeps on this belief and enjoyment of vore is cause by this. Honestly, whatever the case, I think we should all just keep our opinions to ourselves and stay away from each other. Just avoid arguing pointlessly on a topic no one will ever win at.
